Peace Pipe

The peace pipe (calumet) was an integral part of political life, inter tribal conferences and treaty negotiations, also at the heart of spiritual life, medicine men using it in ceremonies to heal sickness and to ward of danger.
Darlene's piece is well crafted with deer antler pipe and mouth piece, wooden beads feathers and horsehair details, lovely leather binding and braided cord to hang. the orange and black beading on the stem compliments the hand painted design on the pipe.
